Richton Salt Dome Project
|
|
The Richton Salt Dome Project will pump 50 million gallons of fresh water per day out of the Pascagoula River into the Richton Salt Dome and 50 million gallons per day of heavy brine, with low to no oxygen content, will be pumped into the Mississippi Sound South of Pascagoula, MS, which will negatively impact our fishery. The government's own Environmental impact statements documents state this will create a dead zone in the Gulf south of Pascagoula measured in square miles. While CCA MS is not an environmental organization, we have a vested interest in the effect this project will have on Shellfish and Finfish.
